No, I’m really not talking about Hello Kitty. I’m talking about my daughter’s Hello Kitty inspired beanie with a mad hatter hat. If you’re looking for a last minute Halloween hat or simply love Hello Kitty read on!
Everyone is probably busy attending Halloween parties or having trick or treat activities right now. Well, a few days ago, I talked about attending Mommy Bloggers Philippines MadHatter Halloween. My daughter’s costume for the party is inspired by Hello Kitty. So, I made her a beanie to go with her outfit. It’s a beanie with a mad hatter hat!
In this post, I’d like to share with you how I did it.
For the beanie, you could use any pattern that you like but I recommend watching this video by HappyBerry crochet. It’s because she has several videos for different age groups.
To make the details on Hello Kitty’s face plus her braids, simply follow the pattern from Crochet in Color.
As for the mad hatter hat, I tweaked a Youtube video I found on making one for a dog, a border collie to be exact. Instead of crocheting in the round for 8 or so, I just made 5. You can add more or less depending on the size you like.
To decorate the mad hatter hat, I used my daughter’s ribbons, some shiny buttons and her teething accessory.
I think it looks lovely, what do you think? Here she is once again!
